More from Kelsey…
I begin with lot of market research to make sure the ideas I have will make the brand stand out. Next, I take it to the drawing board – initial sketching of my concepts is one of the most important steps. Once the vision begins to take form, the refinement happens. I sort through all the little details and comb through my massive font library to narrow down what will best bring it all together.
The vast design community is full of incredible talent, and seeing the growth and successes of other artists inspires me. It serves as a good reminder of the progress I have made in my own skillset, and that I can always be improving.
12 or 13 years old. I probably had other career dreams as a child, but graphic design definitely stuck with me early on.
I start with the personality or level of energy that a brand wants to portray, while taking the color loves & aversions into account. I’m also inspired by nature – it has the best palettes!
Clean, detail-oriented, and organic is my sweet spot. But I am always up for a challenge!
I’ve learned to embrace the technology that is consistently advancing. I have always been a physical pen & paper kind of artist, but discovering how I can combine those skills with tech has been a game changer.
Seeing all the details of typography, colors and imagery come together to transform a brand. Having a creative vision come to life is such an energizing experience.
Visuals leave an impression that words can’t. Design can be one of the first touch points with a customer, and strategic visuals make it clear when a business invests in making sure they are perceived in a way that reflects their work or ethos.
